Composite door services are a standard part of our work now. This comes from the fact that they have become the standard for front doors in Doncaster. They also suit side and back doors and look great compared to white uPVC doors.
The price for a fitted composite door varies, and to a point, you get what you pay for. I have seen examples at £600 fitted and £3000. But they need to be installed well. If not, you will have problems. Modern uPVC doors do not suffer this same problem as much.
Why? Upvc door hinges have more tolerance built in and are easier to adjust. The rebate on Upvc doors allows the workmanship to be average. This means that no matter how much you pay for your beautiful brand-new composite door if it’s not installed by a professional and comes with a guarantee, you will have problems.
Your composite door is now out of guarantee.
If it worked as it should when fitted, but it isn’t easy to close or lock we can help. Composite doors can drop or “lean” and are tight at the top. The door now rubs at the bottom or side. There is a need to slam the door shut and notice that the door frame is loose or that the seal around the frame isn’t neat. Even if the door closes, it could be that you are having difficulty lifting or pushing the handle down to lock or unlock. This happens because the locking points now bind on the door frame. The door could also feel loose and is letting cold air in.
In Doncaster, you need a composite door service.
Doncaster composite door service
We are here to make using your composite door easier and save money.
Why will it save you money?
Because the door mechanisms that keep the door secure are not bulletproof, pushing the handle too much will break the mechanism, which can be an expensive repair. The mechanism is the long silver strip that runs down the edge of the door. If it were to fail, it could leave you with an open and insecure door. Or you could not open it, and it could lock you in or out.
We offer a full composite door repair service in this case. We can replace all types of mechanisms.
Aligning a composite door will negate this drama. In theory, it should be simple, but where to start must be left to someone with the experience.
The hinges are delicate in parts, and using the correct tools is necessary. Far too often, someone has tampered with the hinges, so now we must swap them for new ones. Again, we could have avoided this expense.
While I offer a no-fix, no-charge service, I cannot guarantee fixing your composite door.
You only pay for the composite door service you receive when it is sorted.
